AnderKobes CPA will extend your tax return with the appropriate taxing authorities for those that we have received paperwork for from you, as long as we have a signed Engagement Agreement. 

• Why? 

  • After a certain point in time prior to the original tax deadline date we are unable to have the proper time to ensure our quality standards for your tax return are met.  

  • We want to ensure you get credit for every deduction you are entitled to.  If we rush, we miss things.

  • We have to balance several factors, including the taxing authority who is often behind in putting out the proper forms for us to complete to finish your tax return (for example, in 2025 Colorado finished the entity tax forms 1 week prior to the entity deadline).​

• What does an extension mean?

  • Extensions provide an additional 6 months of time to get your tax return done.​

    • Important:  Just because there is an additional 6 months of time to complete your tax return, it does NOT mean it will take AnderKobes CPA 6 months to complete your tax return.  We will work on your tax return in the order of which it was received, completing it with our high quality standards that we provide each Client and each return.​

  • A return extension means an extension of time to file, but NOT an extension of time to pay.   Your estimated payment is due prior to or on the original deadline date.  Failure to pay will result in penalties and interest from the taxing authorities.​

    • AnderKobes CPA will be in touch with your extension estimated payment, which must be paid prior to or on the original deadline date.  Please note that this is an extension estimated payment.  As your tax return gets finished up there may be additional tax due or you may have a refund.  While we try our best to get your extension estimated payment as close as possible, there may be additional items that impact your final amount due.​
